Phillies great gets movie, debuts at Philly Film Festival
April 14, 2008 11:35 amRichie Ashburn: A Baseball Life debuted Monday at the Philadelphia Film Festival and can be pre-ordered now on DVD, with an official release date of April 22nd.
Ashburn, a Hall of Famer, was a two-time batting champ in the 1950s on a Phillies team that became known as the Whiz Kids. He was also a long-time broadcaster for Phillies games and has been one of the Philladelphia's most beloved sports figures.
