Kicking It Scores Deal with ESPN at Sundance Film Festival

January 19, 2008 12:17 pm

The inspirational soccer documentary Kicking It has scored big-time at the Sundance Film Festival, reportedly getting a distribution deal with ESPN.

Variety is reporting that ESPN actually bought the Colin Ferrell narrated film before it premiered Saturday night as part of the American's Spectrum's Documentary Series at Sundance.

Kicking It tells the story of Homeless World Cup,which was first established in 2001 to give homeless people the opportunity to better their lives through sports.  It's an incredibly unlikely story and the ulimate real-life underdog story, which of course what makes it so compelling and what ESPN obviously recognized and why they wanted to snatch up before other distributors got their hands on it.
